Technical information regarding common IC's and Interface Standards used in Apple Designs
The following information is common data regarding popular standard of off-the-shelf semiconductor devices used in many of Apple's Designs. This section also details any standard interface protocols and techniques used, not only in Apple's original designs, but also on the soft Apple development platform. As time goes by, this information, although generic, is becoming more difficult to come by, and so has been prepared and stored here for completeness and reference. Many devices are obsolete now, however substitute parts are available for experimental and restoration work. For the era that these machines were designed and made, these devices and standards were considered leading edge, and were the common building blocks amongst the most popular systems of the time.
